Perfect 77F. We went out fast at 21.5 mph into the wind to the turnaround. The group broke into 2 at 800W as one group went on the regular route and one went on the Berko. Bones was leading Diva, Sgt and Dog out to the Berko.
Our return average was 24.2 mph. The last 7 miles were at almost 25 mph and it was hard to catch your breath. Luck put me in a good draft coming into the sprint. Diva jumped off the front and I knew better than to chase early. But then we neared the end and I was afraid of not catching him in time so I went for it and hammered up to 34.5 mph. It seemed like I just barely caught him in time, but Dog was on my wheel and Bones on Dog’s. Dog came around me just in time for the win and Bones was a second too late to get around the Dog. Dog’s win. Avg 22.8 mph.
